You have been miss-informed. It was built by a man, for him and his wife, just because he was tired of building rectangles. It has been bought and sold since, but this is the story that was published in the newspaper.

I went to this school from kindergarten to fourth grade. I'm 45 now so it has been a while. 1st through 3rd grades were great there. 4th though things seemed to change. My 4th grade teacher was cruel and my grade reflected the change. I went from straight A's to F's. I was constantly screamed at, shaken and paddled; by both the teacher and both principals. I loved school until this year and never trusted a teacher again afterwards. I did however have my first love there and lots of great times with friends there also. Though my last year there was horrific, the majority of my time there was great. John Gremillion and John Gardina were my two best friends there. I did, even at that young age, have a lot of female friends. I even remember getting chased through the class over my address book. Like I said, we had some great times. I do remember finding those round musket balls all over the school yard. I used to find them at our Timberlane and Eden Isles houses too. It is still a mystery how one looses track of so many friends over the years. I lived in 6 different states over my short life and visited 17 but you always remember where you came from.

This breach was the result of probable malfeasence by the COE for not applying 33 CFR 208.10 from theecretary of the Army with the force of law for these type projects. Read the 4-5 page document & understand all that was to be done & was not. Safe house for pump operators, positive cut-offs in discharge pipelines, repair, replacement, renovation, etc of old outdated & non-compliant structures. Then go to the section on channels & required monitoring of a maximum of 90 days to check for errosion. Then there is a letter in 1988 from the COE telling the local sponsor to monitor the 17th St. Canal with an annual survey & giving that data to the COE for review of any problem with erosion into the stability control line that could cause failure. The surveys were never taken & the data never furnished to the COE, but no follow-up asking for this data & surveys. Over 15 years of possible erosion uncheck or repaired as required and the domino affect took place. It was not a design problem or the entire levee would have failed. It was an unchecked & repaired erosion problem that flooded the city.

I attended AGA from the 80s until I graduated in 1992. I still remember the day I graduated. It was a beautiful spring day, and I remember the mild breeze gently blowing through my hair and feet. The fact that I invented "Peednam" was very much in dispute, as it remains so to this day.

I went to AGA in the 60's and can remember the Scullins very well. I eventually transfered to Ednar Karr for Junior High. What a culture shock. I can't remember our band teachers name but do know he drove one of the school bus and killed a student when he ran her over.

This is the correct location but an imprecise angle. To your left and up you'll see on the other side of I-10 there is a street that's almost perpindicular to I-10. That's what's left of the street that bordered the cemetery on one side and the cemetery outline should run paralell to it. The city jail was located adjacent to the cemetery (and under the Superdome). Maybe the Saints were cursed because they built atop where the old jail stood. Personally, I think tourists spend more in the quarter when the Saints lose, which sort of makes any Saints game a win-win.
